
Grand Lodge Committee on Foreign Correspondence
Charter: The Grand Lodge Committee on
Foreign Correspondence shall follow, and if necessary answer, all communications from corresponding Grand
Jurisdictions. At each Grand Annual Communication, a report shall be given of its yearly activities.
Duties: It shall maintain up-to-date records relating to the
exchange of Grand Representatives with other Grand Jurisdictions. The Committee shall also research all
requests for recognition (Fraternal Reviews) from other Grand Jurisdictions. If the review and analysis
on such requests indicates that the Grand Jurisdiction initiating the request is entitled to recognition
by the Grand Lodge of Virginia, the Committee shall initiate a written resolution to bring such requests
to the attention of the delegates during the next ensuing Grand Annual Communication, for consideration.
Membership:
The Committee shall be composed of three (3) members appointed by the Grand Master of Masons in Virginia
to coordinate and oversee all fraternal reviews (requests for recognition), initiate action to summarize the
Proceedings of Grand Lodges with which we are in amity, and provide a copy of our summarized Proceedings to
them, as outlined in Sections 1.73(7) and 1.75(g).
