Paul David Sleeper

 

Paul David Sleeper was born in New Haven, Connecticut, on December 15, 1956. He graduated from Benjamin N. Cardozo High School in Bayside, New York and the Virginia State Police Academy. He is a Master Trooper, supervising the Safety Inspection stations and inspectors in Bedford and Botetourt Counties and the town of Vinton. He previously worked as a patrol Trooper in Augusta County, as a Trooper-Pilot at the Manassas Airport and as a patrol Trooper in Prince William County prior to coming to the Safety Division.

 

Brother Sleeper was raised to the Sublime Degree of Master Mason in Chamblissburg Lodge No. 179 on April 27, 1993. He is a Life Member in Perpetuity and served as its Worshipful Master in 1997 and 1998. He is a member of Catawba Lodge No. 342, where he is currently serving as Secretary, and is a Charter Member and Life Member in Perpetuity of Peyton Randolph Research Lodge No. 1774. He served as District Deputy Grand Master for Masonic District 24 in 2002. He was appointed Grand Provost in 2007. He is the Grand Representative to the Grand Lodge of Minnesota, near Virginia. He was elected Grand Junior Deacon in November 2008.

 

He is a member of the Valley of Roanoke, Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite, where he is a Life Member in Perpetuity; Life Member in Perpetuity of Bedford Royal Arch Chapter No. 60; a member of Bayard Commandery No. 15; Liberty Chapter No. 209, Allied Masonic Degrees; Wilderness Road York Rite College No. 94; Kazim Shrine Center, A.A.O.N.M.S., Liberty Chapter No. 109 and Botetourt Chapter No. 135, Order of the Eastern Star. He also holds membership in Southern California Research Lodge, F. & A.M., Quartuor Coronati Correspondence Circle, Philalethes Society, Scottish Rite Research Society, and the Masonic Book Club. Brother Sleeper served as an advisor with the Hanging Rock Chapter, International Order of DeMolay and is a recipient of the Honorary Legion of Honor.

 

Brother Sleeper is married to the former Lisa Jean Knotts. Brother Sleeper has three children, Lucretia Ann Myers who resides in Maryville, Tennessee with her husband, Matthew, and two grandchildren, Lillian Grace Myers and Landon Scout Myers; David Anthony Sleeper and Brittany Ann Sleeper of Rustburg; and two step-children, Cara Jean Sowers of Salem and Justin Carl Sowers of Roanoke. He is an ordained Elder and a member of Wellspring Presbyterian Church.
